First Interstate Bank Finalizes $60,000 Gift for Community Facility

With construction well underway on a new aquatic facility and community center for Billings, First Interstate Bank, along with the First Interstate Bank Foundation have finalized a $60,000 donation to the Better Billings Foundation.
Phil Hammond, President of the First Interstate Bank Heights branch, explained that the total donation was $60,000 with an initial gift of $15,000 for the project in 2010. "We are very encouraged with the progress made on this first class facility being constructed by the Better Billings Foundation as well as by the community support being demonstrated for this facility," Hammond said.

Checks from First Interstate Bank and First Interstate Bank Foundation totaling $45,000 were recently presented to the Better Billings Foundation.

"The Better Billings Foundation and the Board of Directors are extremely grateful to First Interstate Bank for this generous contribution," stated Chuck Barthuly, Executive Director. "These funds come at a very opportune time that will help us delay accessing our construction loan to complete this project,” Barthuly said. “We appreciate so much the partnership between the Better Billings Foundation and First Interstate Bank.”

The target completion date for the project is June 2012.
