BOARD OF DIRECTORS & STAFF
Chuck is the Executive Director of the Better Billings Foundation. Prior to taking his current position in 2008, he and his wife Kris owned and operated Rocke Gear Clothing Company for 17 years and opened Marcasa Clothing in July 2004. Both businesses were located in downtown Billings where he served on the boards of the Downtown Billings Association, Parking Advisory, and the Downtown Billings Partnership. He currently serves on the Healthy Places Committee and the Billings Education Foundation board of directors. In 1996, Chuck was awarded the Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the Montana Chamber of Commerce. He received his B.A. in Finance from the University of Montana where he also pursued his passion for music and travel through an exchange program in Vienna, Austria. He has four children and as a life long resident of Billings is fully committed to making Billings better. He and his wife of 24 years, Kris, have four children, Marisa, Cade, Seth and Beau. Encouraging sports and arts for their kids and enjoy the Montana lifestyle of skiing, camping and outdoor recreation together as often as possible.
Rev. Vern Streeter is the Lead Pastor of Harvest Church in Billings, a church that was started in the Billings Heights October 2000 with a small group of individuals and families. Today, the congregation has grown to more than 3,000 attendees. Prior to assuming the leadership role of Harvest Church, Vern was a Youth Pastor for ten years at Faith Evangelical Church in Billings, the "Mother" church of Harvest. Vern has a bachelor's degree from Biola University and a Master's Degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. Vern and his lovely wife Ramie have two beautiful daughters, Emily and Maddie.
Andrew was born and raised in Billings, Montana. After leaving Billings for seven years to attend Hillsdale College, in Hillsdale, Michigan, followed by law school at the University of Montana School of Law, in Missoula, Montana, Andrew returned to Billings and began practicing law in September 2003. Andrew is grateful for the support of his wife, Jennelle, and two children, Abigail and Hanley.
Andrew is proud to be a present and past board member of the Better Billings foundation, Big Sky Youth Education Foundation, Billings Christian Schools, Billings Symphony Society and Faith Evangelical Church.
Jim Rott is the owner of SteepWorld climbing gym and outdoor retail store which opened in early 2005. He trained in outdoor retail sales for a decade prior to stepping out into the entrepreneurial void. Growing up in Wyoming and coming to Montana via Alaska, the mountains and the outdoors have been a major factor in his life. Since the mid 80’s his primary focus has been rock and ice climbing.
Domestication took a long time, but he and his incredibly supportive and tolerant wife Bonni started a family in the early 2000’s. He spends most of his time now with his two boys trying to teach the love of Christ and appreciation of his creation via camping, climbing, fishing, hunting, golfing, biking and just about any other good excuse to get out and enjoy the beautiful place we live.
Erika is a Montana native, born in Kalispell and grew up in Great Falls. After getting married to her high school sweetheart Matt in 1996, they started a family, Kristen, Sydney, Zander, Rachael and (many fosters). Two States, six cities and many homes they have chosen to settle down in Billings.
Erika Lopez has an AAS in Business, is the Programs Director for The Better Billings Foundation and the Concessions Manager for the Oasis Water park. Erika is or has been on the Board of Directors at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kalispell as the Youth Director, for The Rock Springs Amateur Hockey Association, Gillette Amateur Hockey Association, Wyoming Hockey Association.
Beau is a 3rd generation events producer/promoter and partner at Rimrock Promotions and Trade Shows, Inc. having been with the company since 2006. Beau loves seeing his company help local small businesses thrive. Beau has been honored as a “40 Under 40” recipient and is proud to have served on the BBF Board of Directors since 2015. He also enjoys serving in many capacities at Harvest Church. Born and raised in Montana Beau is passionate about being outdoors with friends and family. Beau is most proud of his wife Emily and two children Madison and Logan James.

TerraBeth Jochems’ lifework revolves around giving help, hope and honor to people of all ages who struggle with reading and writing. She earned her BA in secondary education of liberal arts and a certificate in reading K-12 from Eastern Montana College in 1982, taught literacy for 25 years in the Billings Public Schools system, founded a community-wide reading club called One Book Billings, and serves on the Montana State Reading Council. Diagnosed with dyslexia at an early age, TerraBeth knows the heartbreak and frustration children with reading difficulties may face in their everyday lives. Therefore, she has teamed up with the Better Billings Foundation and Harvest Church to create a literacy ministry called 3 H Tutoring. Her vision is that this ministry will grow in numbers and resources to meet the literacy needs of families in our community as they work to reverse the negative effects caused by reading difficulties. This ministry is an answer to many prayers, including TerraBeth’s.

Kassia Lyman is the current Health & Wellness Director at the Billings' YMCA. With a passion for our Billings Community, she has been employed at the Y for the past 10 years. Kassia and her husband have lived in Billings for 11 years and have two daughters, ages 7 & 3. They have called Harvest Church home for the past 11 years and fill Their schedules with the typical activities any parent of girls would! Kassia feels that serving on the Board for the Better Billings Foundation is an honor with its mission and focus on serving our Billings Community.

Alex Martin is the CFO for WMK Steel Fabrication and Western States Steel. Alex was born on a ranch near Hardin but at a very young age moved to Billings. Alex graduated from the University of Montana School of Business and started his career at First Interstate Bank. Alex has also served or is currently serving on the RiverStone Health Foundation Board, RiverStone Health Clinic Board, and Red Lode Volunteer Ski Patrol Board.
Alex enjoys spending time with his wife Kristy, a Family Nurse Practitioner at Billings Clinic, son Grayson, and daughter Anna. They like to go camping, skiing, fishing, biking, and enjoying the great outdoors. Additionally, the family enjoys spending time on Kristy’s family ranch near Great Falls.
Josh was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He and his family moved to Billings shortly thereafter. Josh attended college in Bozeman at Montana State University, where he earned both his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in accounting. Josh returned to Billings and is currently an audit associate with Eide Bailly, LLP.
Josh is proud to have the Better Billings Foundation to be the first board he has had the pleasure of serving on. Outside of work and serving the community, Josh enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as cheering on his favorite sports teams.
John grew up south of Billings, MT, in the country. John’s mother and father cultivated a love for Jesus, reading, and art in him which eventually led him into the field of architecture. He met his wife Nicole through Campus Crusade for Christ while studying at MSU. They were married while John was finishing his master’s program, and after graduating, John and Nicole moved back to Billings. John began work at @ Architecture and Nicole taught high school math. Eventually they had three beautiful girls, Savannah, Isla, and Isabel. John and his family attend Harvest Church regularly, and John enjoys hunting, gardening, and playing with his girls.
